Hawthorne is an essential herb for cardiovascular health. It can help a wide range of

cardiovascular disorders including high and low blood pressure, heart palpitations with anxiety, angina, and weak veins. It is an excellent herb when under stress or otherwise needs strength. It strengthens the walls of the blood vessels. In addition to the physical benefits, some people take this herb to help with emotional pressures such as anxiety and grief. Our physical heart is deeply connected to our emotions, so it makes sense that an herb designed to strengthen the physical heart would also ease troubling emotions. Many parts of the Hawthorne plant are used medicinally- leaves, flowers, and berries. This healthy heart tea is prepared with Hawthorne berries, dried organic rose petals, and cinnamon sticks. You can consume it regularly to gain the maximum benefit of these superfoods.

•1 generous tablespoon dried hawthorne berries, soaked overnight

•1–2 generous teaspoons of dried organic rose petals

• cinnamon stick (or to taste), crushed

Step 1: Measure 1.5–2 cups of water into a pot. Place hawthorne berries into pot and cover. Bring water to a boil, then lower and simmer for 15–20 minutes, covered.

Step 2: Prepare roses and cinnamon and place them into a teapot, cup, or jar. Pour hot water and berries over roses and cinnamon, cover, and steep for 10 minutes, then strain.
