Turmeric shot, a powerful antioxidant source, anti-inflammatory.

Prep: 15 mins


  • Fresh turmeric, 2 and 1/2 inches

  • Fresh lemon juice, 1 tsp

  • Black pepper, 1/8 tsp


  • Peel and chop fresh turmeric

  • Add the peeled turmeric root to a blender and blend. Add about 1/4 cup water as it processes to help it break down into a paste.

  • Strain through a fine-mesh sieve over a bowl or put the contents in a nut bag and squeeze the juice over a bowl. Discard remaining turmeric.

  • Mix lemon juice with turmeric juice.

  • Pour – pour about 1/3 cup for each shot.

  • Add black pepper before you drink it. Turmeric isn’t absorbed well without consuming black pepper with it. Black pepper contains piperine, a substance that enhances the absorption of turmeric.
